A new Pink Floyd album is on the way. A message on the band's website confirms the upcoming set, titled The Endless River, is due in October.
The album is described as "mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 'Division Bell' sessions." Band members David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason are featured on the album, while Gilmour is also co-producing the disc. They're expected to reveal more details on the project later this summer.
The Endless River will be the first Pink Floyd album in 20 years, following 1994's The Division Bell.
Word surfaced about the album over the weekend via social media. Gilmour's wife first mentioned The Endless River in a tweet Sunday. Former Pink Floyd touring vocalist Durga McBroom-Hudson then offered a little more information via Facebook.
